WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County School Board has four new faces.
Three incumbent republicans lost in the midterm elections Tuesday. This comes after another, Ed Higgins lost in May’s primary.
Democrats Stefanie Adams, Judy Justice, Nelson Beaulieu and Republican Bill Rivenbark were voted on the school board. They unseated Republicans Don Hayes, Janice Cavenaugh and Bruce Shell.
Republicans had held all the seats on the school board. They will now hold a 4-3 majority with the new board.
